On Friday the kids participated in the children's parade. Our church group did a float about the man on the moon. And all the kids were aliens. They all wore neon colored shirts and silly pompoms on their heads. We also spray painted their hair. Daesha started out a bit emotional because she wasn't on the float. Then once she voiced her disappointment Keegan followed suit. Soon the whining became full out crying and then tantrums from Keegan. One phone call to their Dad to come pick them up settled them right down and they both walked and waved the entire parade route. Keegan twisted his PomPoms and wanted me to take a picture.
My kids and the "Jacklin girls" Desirae and Kylie.
Keegan held his star sunglasses up to my camera lens. I just love his goofy expression :)
Right after the parade we headed to the rodeo. The kids love going to the rodeo. We all enjoyed it a lot this year. Some memorable things were the motocross group. They performed at last years rodeo too. Keegan still loved every second. As a family we ate 9 burgers at the rodeo! Mmmm good. Also a freak accident this year was during a bull ride. The rider was bucked off before his 8 seconds but before the bull stopped bucking it kicked the bell rope. The bull rope is what the bull rider grips throughout the ride. It is wrapped around the chest of the bull directly behind the animal's front legs. At the bottom of the rope hangs a metal bell designed to give the rope some weight so that it will fall off the bull as soon as the rider is bucked off or dismounts the animal. I think the bell is also used to piss the bull off. But anyway, this bull kicked the bell and it went flying 30 feet high and landed in the announcers booth. A poor lady in the booth was hit directly between her eyes by the huge metal bell. They bandaged her up and she left to the hospital. No other serious injuries happened during the rodeo. Even a bronc rider who broke 3 ribs the week before still rode. He hobbled away holding his side but alive. I guess.

Lehi Rodeo Days
This year we had lots of fun celebrating our town. We even were able to stay away from the emergency room this year. It was actually one year ago last Tuesday that Daesha was bit by a dog. So to celebrate the day we did the exact same thing we did last year minus the dog bite. :) We went to Wines Park to watch Despicable Me on the big screen with the Jackins. Keegan danced around and wrestled with Kylie and Desirae. We had a great time and found out that we are getting a new grocery store in town. MACEY'S!!!! Sad I get a bit excited about that. But I love shopping at Macey's. And I love their ice cream cones!!! At the movie they were selling 1 hot dog, chips, and a can of soda for 50 cents. All 3 things for 50 cents!!! Too bad we had dinner before we left. They also handed out free full size candy bars.
I loved watching Keegan. Is this not the face of every spectator at the rodeo?
If I had a better camera and the fence wasn't in the way this would have been an amazing picture. The cowboy ended up flipping right under this horse! He did get stomped on but got up and waved that he was fine. But it sure was intense!
After the rodeo the royalty and clowns and motocross riders signed autographs. Daesha wanted everyone of them so we were pretty much the last to leave. One of the girls looked up to say Hi to Daesha and was surprised by her hair. all she could say was "wow, your hair is...interesting"

This guy is a bull fighter and such a gentlemen. He took his hat off to every little girl and then put it back on to only take it off again for the next girl. I thought it was so sweet. He is also the only bull fighter who has the guts to jump over the bull when it charges him.
This clown is the most famous clown in the rodeo curcuit. His name is Cecile. He is the one who cracks jokes and entertains the crowd during the rodeo.
