Zoo - Food - And 1 Ugly Mood

For Memorial Day Ted and I came up with a list of activities for the kids to choose from. On our list we had things like going to the park to participate in a flag ceremony followed by bagpipers and brass concert. That got a blank stare.. ok not this year.
How about the car races! Keegan gave a huge YYYEEESSS! Daesha's reply, "what else?"
Ummm wanna go to the Zoo???
In unison and extremely loud cheers we took that as a YES.

Daesha loves Panda Bears. She did a school report on them this year. So she was one happy girl when she got the panda on the Carousel. Keegan was also happy when he got the bench seat all to himself. He didn't want an animal that went up and down.

We had been at the park for 2 hours and now it was time for lunch. The kids each got a dinosaur bottle with their meals.

Ted was jealous that I didn't take a picture of his drink too! So here he is with his awesome drink.
After lunch we headed to the bird show. This is the part of the day Keegan had had enough. As we know crowds are not his favorite. But you put crowds along with pushing and touching him. That will send Keegan over the edge. While waiting for the show to start Keegan was already grouchy and irritable. He dropped his clear plastic cap to his water bottle and it rolled a few inches to a little girl sitting in front of us. She picked it up. Keegan reached out his hand while whining. Ted tried some words of comfort telling Keegan, "she will give it to you don't worry". The little girl had herself a treasure and put in straight in her mouth. I couldn't help but laugh. We all laughed. But that was the end of it! Keegan had had enough of people and there was no way of controling the now horrific tantrum. So he and I walked out of the bird show and to the car. After the bird show Ted traded me and he sat with Keegan in the car. Keegan took a nap and Daesha and I finished the day alone. We had a great time, just Daesha and I. But once we started back to the car we realized that we missed having Keegan and Ted with us.
Thus the lack of photos that day....

After the Zoo we went to The Pie Pizzaria. Seriously THE BEST PIZZA EVER!!!!! Serious. If you have not been there you have to go. Right now! We got the Chicken Ranch Pizza. A Garlic Ranch Sauce topped with seasoned oven roasted Chicken Breast, Crisp Bacon, Tomatoes, Onions, Sharp Cheddar, and Mozzarella Cheese. HOLY CRAP! So dang good!!!

We also got Dessert! Cinnamon Pie. Just look at it. O sheesh.. I have to go back.
After dinner we hit the double movie at the Drive-In. We got there before the gates were open so we played war with the pine cones that had fallen from the trees. Ted left the driver side door open while we played for about 30 minutes. When we got back in our Suburban and Ted went to turn the key nothing happened. Our battery was dead! A guy came to the rescue but not before he had to spit tabacco before he could talk to us. After our car was successfully running we decided we better go get a new battery right away. (we noticed it was having trouble for some time) So new battery in and back to the Drive-In. We saw Men In Black 3 and Battleship. Ted and I had a feeling that the kids would be way too tired to watch the movies. We were right. Both kids were asleep after the first 20 minutes of Men In Black.
