Carnival's In Town!

Last Friday (July 13th) the kids and I had a small disagreement on what we were going to do for fun. Daesha really wanted to go to the Lehi pool with her friend Allie. Keegan really wanted to to to the American Fork carnival. So a compromise.
I dropped Daesha off at the pool which really was a big step for both of us. It was her first time going to the pool without a parent. OK Allies mom was there too. But I dropped Daesha off about 40 minutes before her friends arrived. She has gotten really good at swimming but that didn't stop me from giving her strict rules to stick to the shallow end.
Keegan and I went to the carnival with my sister and nieces. Keegan loves cotton candy. It's what he wants when we go to the movie theater and somehow he knew there would be cotton candy at the carnival. After he went on his first ride he was anxious to get his sweet treat of cotton candy. As we were walking to the concession stand I started feeling a bit dizzy. By the time we made our purchase I was so dizzy I was sure I was going to pass out. It was then I realized I hadn't eaten a thing and it was 1:00 and the heat must have made things worse. Thankfully my niece's have little ones. So they always have snacks that they must have at any and all times in the diaper bag. I ate an orange, half of a PB&J sandwich, and some water. I felt a little better but still felt completely disoriented. My neice gave me 5 bucks and I headed back to the concession stand to buy more water and a corn dog. I didn't fully recover from the dizziness till the next morning!

But even with me feeling sick and the heat being unbearable we had a good time. I don't get to see my neices nearly as much as I would like. It was much easier to spend time with them when they were little. I could just have them come have sleepovers at our house or head to the mall for an Orange Julius. But now they are all grown up and have families of their own. I miss those days but I also love seeing them be such awesome mommies!

My neice Kerra gave the kids "five" as they went by. I love this picture because Kerra's son is just about to go out of the picture and is still laughing after his hand made contact with his mommy.

Keegan isn't a huge fan of rollercoasters. But I think he felt bribed into getting on because his younger cousins were excited to ride. He was all excited until the little boy sitting behind him got scared and at the last second started to cry. Right after the boys sister got him off  Keegan must have assumed the ride was going to be scary so he too asked to get off. He didn't cry but he was very close, he didn't end up riding this time. Maybe next year...
