When we first got there they had stock car racing on the oval raceway. The kids liked watching the races but the best part of the night was at the end of the night.
This what I'm assuming was a special needs boy stood under the flagger on his perch. He did a better job than the professional flagger.
A teaser for what was to come later.... a couple trailer racers.
They saw the camera this time!
Keegan took the next few pictures of the cars racing. The first few he didn't get a car in the frame. He had to practice to be quick because they passed by so fast.
DOOMS DAY DEMOLITION DERBY!!!
I have been to plenty of demolition derby's but this one was the best!!!! this was trailer races. The trailers were either flat bed, or camping trailers decorated and themed out for destruction. They raced around the figure 8 track trying hard to detach the trailer from the vehicle pulling it.
Here they are rounding the bend before entering the middle of the figure 8!
This truck and trailer spun around twice before the truck behind it crashed right through the trailer!!!
This vehicle has an entire camping trailer wrapped around it and he is still driving around like a maniac
Major wreckage and sparks flying from a trailer missing a wheel.
When it was all said and done the race left the track covered in debris. Daesha especially liked the trailer that was filled with helium balloons because as it got obliterated the balloons escaped and flew up in the air. One trailer had dishes and cups that came spilling out too. There was so much to see and hear it was really quiet thrilling. We had so much fun but we all left with a headache. Next time we will remember our ear plugs. And asprin.
