Spring is here for the Christiansen's because every year we go to Moab. This year seemed like a very short trip. We left on Thursday and came back home on Saturday. Once again Ted and I didn't call and reserve a room on time so we stayed in a different hotel than the rest of the family. But it always is fun to go on rides all day in beautiful Moab. On Friday morning it was windy and a bit cold. Daesha got a new helmet that looks HUGE on her little body. But she really likes it. She liked that it had a microphone on the front like her Mom and Dads.
(Its really just a vent area that looks like a microphone)
We packed a great lunch that day with lots of snacks, chips, and sandwiches. When we stopped for lunch Ted and I realized neither of us grabbed the bag in our hotel room. We had our drinks and our sandwiches. But that was it. But as usual Grandma had extra to share and kept sharing. I think we might have ate Grandpas lunch!
Daesha and I rode with Betty most of the day in her new Rhino.
It's a great ride, and even funner to drive.
The Next Day Daesha and I didn't go on a ride. We spent the whole day shopping and played at the park and went to a movie. We watched Blades of Glory, which was the only movie I thought Daesha could handle. She liked the Ice Skating but I had to cover her eyes a couple times. When I covered her eyes during the sexually explicit parts she asked if they were smoking. I had to say "no, I think it might be a spooky part".
At the hotel Daesha made all kinds of friends, in the halls, in the pool, in the lobby - all adults. That girl would walk right up to people and say, "Hi whats your name"... Blah blah blah.
By the end of the weekend she knew the desk manager the neighboring guests, and people in the hot tub. She found these people were the easiest to talk to because they were there relaxing and weren't going anywhere soon. So she would strike up a conversation with them.
The funniest thing she said was to a woman in the hot tub.
Daesha was walking around the edge of the pool and jumping in at the stairs where she could get just get the deepness that was too deep but able to barely make it back to the stair.
Despite her mothers warnings, she kept doing it.
A lady kept saying to her "Daesha, your making me nervous"
Daesha continued doing this and the lady continued her reply each time.
Daesha finally said, "Stephanie, don't be nervous. I'm just having fun"
(still not sure how she knew her name- I didn't)
this got a uproar of laughs from all 6 of us in the hot tub.
