Family night

Monday night family night got delayed to last night. We got a really bad snow storm and so we sat at home. But last night we did go out to a really fun place called Hollywood Connections. We had the whole place to ourselves (I think because it was the middle of the week). Daesha has been there a couple times and really loves going. It's basically an indoor carnival. There are rides for kids, bumber cars, rollercoaster, mini golf, skating rink, lazer tag, and movie theaters. After Daesha rode a few rides we went roller skating. Daesha did pretty good, she wanted to do it all by herself after she skated a few laps . The best entertainment of all is the last picture, scroll down to see..

this picture below is funny! Ted was spinning the bucket really fast.

You can see Daesha's head and hair. She cant hold her head up cause it's going so fast.

Daesha calls this bus ride the tummy tickler.

It's kinda like the magic carpet ride.

Daesha skating all by herself!

Ted and Daesha - Ted is the worse skater ever!

He took his skates off after 15 minutes. But he put in a great effort.

I grew up on skates so it was my job to do the teaching.

Keegan got to have some fun too!

and finally the award for most entertaining for the night.....

This guy was for real. This picture you must click on to blow it up. It demands a closer look. He was roller skating like he was on ice skates!! He was pretty good too. But I just couldn't stop laughing at his outfit. The funniest were the lace socks!! He had a water bottle and towel that he'd placed on the rail to cool himself down from his hard workout. I asked him if I could take his picture and after he had done this spinning trick he skated up to me and I said, "That was amazing" he said in his soft voice, "that wasn't a good one I tripped on my wheel". I'm pretty sure I had a goofy smile on my face because I was about to burst into laughter.

Daesha liked watching him do his tricks. She finally said, "Mom, boys don't wear dresses" I said, "no they dont but I guess some do" Here is a video of her doing some of the tricks she learned from the man in a dress. And one of her falling. Its only half a second long.

pictures taken by Daesha

It was time to get a new camera. My camera started overexposing. When I took it in to see how much it would cost to get it fixed, I decided it wasn't worth the cost. It was an ok camera. A polaroid digital. I bought (I should say Ted bought it since he's the lone money maker in our home) a Canon powershot. Like it so far but I need more time and pictures to decide if I love it. Now that I have a new camera Daesha has had a great time going around the house taking pictures with the old one. I have become used to walking around the corner and being temporarily blinded by the flash of the camera. Today I was looking at what she had been taking pictures of and I thought that a couple weren't too bad.

Temple pictures..

I think they turned out great. Keegan was happy the entire time and Daesha was NOT. She did not like the cold temperature. The last picture taken of her says it all...

Here are some of the pictures we took at the temple. It was snowing pretty bad so we took these under the car port. This Saturday we plan to go back to the temple (depending on weather) and get some family pictures in our white. So those I should be posting next week...

(people who were there but not in the group photo..Mindy Searle, and Kim & George Adams)

These were taken at lunch. The last 2 pictures Keegan has a toothpick behind his ear. What a stud.

This weekend we took Keegan to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple to be sealed to our family for all Eternity. I realize that some of my friends and family don't know fully what we do in the temple. I can say that it is a holy place, a place of instruction. Where we make covenants and promises to ourselves and our Father in heaven. In the temple we are bound together in the most sacred of all human relationships - as husbands and wives, as children and parents, as families under a sealing that time cannot destroy and death cannot disrupt. Only Latter Day Saint members, having been certified as to their worthiness can enter. We are taught to enter clean in thought, clean in body, and clean in dress. We are expected to leave the world behind and concentrate on things divine. Which is why of course I love to go to the temple. It is a peaceful place. And a very special place.

So I am full of joy when I can have this special experiance with my family. We had many family and friends there with us to witness this special event in our lives. Keegan was very happy as usual. And Daesha was taking it all in. This was her 2nd time in the temple since she was sealed to Ted and I when she was 6 months old. We were able to retell the story of when she was a baby in the temple. And also told her that she can come back; if she chooses, when she is older and ready to get married.

Sunday we were able to give Keegan a name and blessing in our church building. This act is like a prayer for health and sprituality. It also officially puts his name in the church records. After church we had lunch for our family and friends. It was a great weekend. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come and we missed those who we know would have loved to be there but couldn't. We love you all! I will post pictures soon.

If you want to know more about our temples there is a magazine that was published in 1999 entitled TEMPLES of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
