Summer's Last Blast

Going to the ER was not how we wanted to spend the last weeks of summer. I have been a prisoner to my bed since I got home Sunday afternoon, which really annoys me more than it should because I left the hospital pain free and now I can barely make it to the restroom let alone keep the kids out of trouble. Since Ted has a new job and he already had taken a couple days off while I was in the hospital we thought Monday was going to be just fine with just me and the kids. And even though I thought we would be fine I was still amazed at how well the kids did. My Mother-in-law helped a lot. She brought lunch for us and took Keegan to his cousins house. He was running all over the neighborhood. And it was making me nervous and also the constant slam of the door every 5 seconds from him going in then out then in again... glad Grandma could see she needed to get him out. Daesha did not want to leave me home alone so she told her Grandma she wanted to stay home with me. Daesha stayed at my side the entire day. She was a huge help. My sister-in-law Judy brought Keegan back home after a few hours and left us all drinks from the gas station. My friend Kim brought us some dinner. And Ted got off school early (8:30) to put the kids to bed and rub out some painful air bubbles in my shoulders. The highlight of the day was right after dinner I felt really good. Good enough to pick up toys, put laundry away and I even went to bed without taking my pain medication. The next morning I was a bit sore but feeling fine. I took it easy and got some toast and apple juice for me and the kids, got back in bed and by 11 o'clock I was really wishing I hadn't gone with out my pain medication.
So today was a big step back in the getting better stage. I was very nauseous and had a lot of stomach pain. Keegan was out the door by 9 am. roaming the neighborhood again. At 12:00 I asked Daesha to go get her brother and make us a PB&J sandwich for lunch. Which she did and then right after lunch Keegan went back outside, Daesha went to her show Wild Kratts...

and I went back to reading followed much to soon by sleep.

PS One of the many great reasons to have a pet. The best little snuggles you can get when you are not feeling well.

The day has come to a close and we all made it! Thanks to my neighbor Nikki who ended up watching Keegan and made sure he was safe and entertained all day long. And thanks to my niece Kerra for bringing us dinner. Now the kids are bathed and ready for bed. Tomorrow I go to my followup appointment with the surgeon and Daesha also has an appointment to get new glasses for school. Lets hope that I get a good nights sleep because tomorrow could be a tough one....
