a new way to doodle...

Daesha got a doodle pad from Grandma Betty this last weekend. She quickly found that the stamps dont need to be put in the water pad. Just lick it! Heck! Who needs a pen to write on the doodle pad. JUST LICK IT!

Thanksgiving fun

Every Thanksgiving we go to Ted's Mom and Dads. This year Ted wanted to try deep fried turkey. Look how golden brown it looks in the pictures. It was so juicy and very good. And notice the fire extinguisher on the lower right...safety first.
Daesha was very hungry when we got there so she decided to eat the dinner mints on the table, but first she had to cut them up. As if they weren't tiny already :-)

After we stuffed ourselves with food. We headed off to the movies. I guess this has become a family tradition in the last couple years. This year Ted took the kids and played Halo with some friends. So I called my friend Kim and she joined me and the fam. This year we went and saw August Rush. It was really good. After the movie I headed off to my sisters to plan out the morning shopping. I planned on sleeping over but my neices and I ended up going to the mall at midnight. We made my nephews come too. It wasn't too exciting..Just at the moment the doors were open everyone started screaming. The news crews were there and I just couldn't stop laughing at the stupidity of it all. I didn't get any Christmas gifts but I got some jeans for myself for $12 and a shirt for $10 at Anchor Blue. We got home about 2:30 am and we were out the door again at 3:30. I got about 25 minutes of sleep. I got some great deals most everything on my list except the airhogs helicopters. Those were gone quick. The morning was pretty much uneventful. No serious injuries or broken displays like we have seen in the past.
When I got home around 1:00 I gave my hubby a kiss and went to take a nap. Daesha came in shortly after. I was just about to shoo her out and lock the door but she just curled up next to me. So we took a 2 hour nap together.
Satuday we took the kids to Cabella's and had lunch there too. Then we went to see the 3-D dinosaur movie at the museum. Keegan screamed in horror as the dinosaur came right up to the screen and roared. Poor kid.
Sunday after church we got out the tree and trimmings and started to get into the holiday sprit. Daesha helped by putting all the balls and other ornaments in the same small clump on the tree. I think all kids to that. Ted helped by putting ornaments on Daesha. It was a fun weekend. I love the holiday season. But really don't like the snow. And I think it is coming soon. We got a little drift this morning. Boooo.

TED GOT THE COVER!

So it looks like we have a model on our hands...it's not either of the kids. Boart Longyear came out with the new and improved employee benefits manual for 2008 and Ted is on the cover. This will be circulated throughout the entire company with in the United States! Ted has been going around the office signing everyone's manual. He is taking the fame all in stride and he is still a down to earth guy. Fame hasn't changed him all that much. If you would like to request a signed manual he will do so at a small fee.

taking down the Halloween decor and now comes Christmas! Just kidding..

Halloween has come and gone but Daesha will be eating candy for weeks! Daesha got to wear her costume to school and she was so excited. I went to her school to see the little parade they do and they sang a couple Halloween songs for the parents, it was pretty cute. Afterwards I went to get Daesha from her class and she wasn't as happy as she was when I dropped her off. I asked her what was wrong and she told me in her angry voice, "There were 3 other Spiderman's at my school". "Oh" I said, "But werent you the only GIRL Spiderman". "Yes I was but.. I didn't want Dawson to be a Spiderman too!" It was like a teenager going to prom and having another girl wearing the same dress! At least when she does become a teen nothing will surprise me. She already acts like a teenager. Note the picture below and Daesha in a sea of Spidermen :-)
After school we went to the pediatrist and he was happy with Daesha's feet. He said he could tell a difference in her stride and the position of her feet when she walked and ran. He said this is a good sign. He wants to keep her in the same insoles for 6 months. (instead of every 2 months)This is good. It's going to be much cheaper for us too.
Halloween night was alot of fun. I went to my sisters so that she could take pictures of us in our costumes. Ted is not in them because he didn't want to dress up this year. I know! Where has my husband gone??? He usually loves Halloween. Since Daesha was so excited to be Spiderman I decided a family of "stupid" super heros would be fun. I went as Supergirl and Keegan was Ghostrider. Keegan had a heart tattoo that I thought was really funny. But the skull mask was hilarious!!!I just cut the bottom half out of the rubber mask so that his nose and mouth was exposed. He didn't seem to mind it too much.
Once we got back home with my nephew Nic we set out all the decor. It was pretty spooky, with ghosts, black lights, fog machine, and scary music. My Nephew nic was a really scary scarecrow. We put a fake hand in his sleeve so he totally looked fake. He sat on the porch with the bowl of candy and scared all the kids and parents! It was so much fun to watch, and Nic had a great time scaring.
The best was this Dad came with his 2 boys 10 and 8 years old. As they came up on our porch they said it was creepy. One boy knocked on the door and the other boy said, "oh, the candy is right here". The Dad said, "oh, thats cool" He took one and the other boy said do we only take one? The father said, "No you can get a couple" Then Nic yelled and put his arms out! The Dad yelled, "Holy Crap"! He did the little feet dance and yelled louder than the boys, it was so funny!!!
When Ted got home from work he took Daesha out trick or treating. I told Daesha to tell him he was a pooper for not dressing up. So he quickly got on his camo and did a bullet hole on his forehead. He looked pretty gross. And I didn't even get a picture. All in all it was a fun night and very glad it's over with. So sorry we didn't get out to visit more friends and family this year. Both kids and myself have a pretty bad cough and I wouldn't want to get any of you sick with our germs. The picture of all of us sitting on the couch is so cute of Keegan. He has the biggest smile.
