Winter Sucks!!!!

Our front door I am so done with winter and snow! Last night we got this freek storm that was supposed to just blow by in a couple hours. It did blow and blow and BLOW but it lasted pretty much all night! Some areas got it worse than others. Ted left work early because they got word that it was going to be a really bad commute. He couldn't even get on the highway when he left work. He called me and said he might need to get a hotel room. I told him not to even try coming home right now. All the roads were closed. Everyone was at a stand still until the visibility got better. Later Ted called and said he was going to the 7 o'clock movie(he saw I Am Legend, and really liked it) After the movie he called and said he was on his way home. At 12:30 he finally made it home. Only 6 hours later!!! He sat in one spot for 45 minutes just 1/2 mile from our house. As a joke I flashed our bedroom light at him so that he could find his way home. He said he could see it flashing. Ha, Ha. I have a video of the poor commuters trying to get homebut it wont download. (I'll work on it)Ted said as he passed the local grocery store the parking lot was packed with people who had decided to park for the night. A local Dentist was giving away toothbrushes. I felt so bad for those poor people especially the cars full of kids and poopy diapers. We were in bed at 1:00 and the cars were still stretched for miles. It also gives just a glimpse of what it will be like if there was some sort of emergency and everyone was on the road trying to leave. It was a little freaky. The kids and I had some fun while the power was out for 3 hours. Daesha and I got out some candles and roasted marshmellows on toothpicks. We stayed nice and warm in our bed wrapped up in our warm blankets. Once we got sick of eating roasted marshmellows we had a blast burning the crap out of them!! Keegan laughed every time they burst into flames.

seriously, I love the picture of your dooor. My sister was telling me about the storm, it was crazy sounding. we are currently at 14 degrees and probably have a wind chill of 0, it's crazy. I hate the wind and I am so ready for winter to be over!

Love your innovation during the power outage. Roasting marshmellows over candles?! Wish I had thought of that. Thanks for an awesome fun night out tonight!

by the way, i never thought about roasting marshmellows over a candle before! good idea...anyway, i don't know what has brought all this in me about. i guess b/c i am between church families right now and don't really know what denomination i am. my grandfather was catholic as i would be now but he got kicked out of the church b/c my grandmother wouldn't convert and i am technically a member of the methodist church in town but have went to first baptist and the church of christ (b/c my stepmom was that, not my pick of religions for sure) and when i started dating chris, they went to a first freewill baptist church and then the preacher left and i didn't really care to stay there. so anyway, i was watching the mormons on pbs a few sunday's ago, i had always been interested in lds b/c of debbi, just like to know the history and what not and it really opened my eyes to all of the chaos mormons had to endure back in the day and people just have this awful view about mormonism. i have always been an open minded person, but i couldn't understand why everyone else is so freaked out about it b/c it isn't much different than any other denomination. we are all christians...i don't hear baptist talking about methodists and what not. i guess b/c i basically grew up with debbi and knew she was normal and her family was normal, i have always defended mormonism. half the people i have ever talked to only say how "they" believe in polygamy and i have to correct them everytime and say no, that was years ago and they didn't all do that. anyway, so i had been talking to debbi about it and then this chick comes out of nowhere and comments on my blog and hers (not about mormonism) but anyway we both looked to see if we knew her and didn't but debbi saw a post of hers on down talking about a mormon lady who helped her and how she felt sorry for her for not knowing God or some mess. so i was mad and commented back on her most recent post at the time and she commented back to me. she did get a lot of negative comments on her post about the mormon lady, but i couldn't help it. i was defensive as i get often! :) her blog is:http://wendyjanelle.blogspot.com anyway, that is the jist but i did think it was weird b/c my next door neighbor has been living next to us for several months and all of a sudden last week decides to come over and introduce himself and asks if i wanted a book of mormon and i said sure (i have been wanting to read it) well he wanted to come back when my husband was there. i told him i understood, but my husband is closed minded and doesn't want to talk to him. so now i don't know what to do with him (the neighbor) any suggestions? so here is my novel! hahaha
