Friends, Flicks, and Food

NO BOYS ALLOWED!!! Just some of the best chick flicks ever!!

When the men head to the priesthood session of general conference, make your "girls' night out" a "girls' night in"with classic chick flicks and food to match! Got this idea from the Daily Herald. The article was really cute. Movies to watch and food to serve that went along with the movie. Like: "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (2002) serve Greek Orzo Salad. "Sabrina" (1995) serve Basic Crepes. "Father of the Bride" (1991) serve Dark Chocolate Cake. "While You Were Sleeping" (1995) serve Fruit Pizza. "Sense and Sensibility" (1995) serve Lancaster Hot Pot. - Recipes courtesy www.allrecipes.com, an online cookbook.

So here is my plan. If you would like to participate in watching a movie and food at my house, call me. Tell me which chick flick gets your vote! It should be lots of fun and cheaper than going out. And...we wont have to deal with all the other ladies that are out with the girls. If you know my number and you know where I live YOU are invited!!! If that video doesn't get the girly in you I dont know what will???:-)

Easter 2008

This year I didn't go all out with candy and toys for the kids. And I am so glad I didn't because Daesha still got enough candy to last her all year. On Sunday morning Ted and I got out her left over Valentine candy and put it in plastic eggs and hid them! She didn't notice something was amiss until she found a candy covered in hearts and exclaimed. "This is the same candy I took to my class for Valentines!" Ted and I had to try hard not to laugh out loud. Ted's work had an Easter egg hunt on Sunday. Later that afternoon we had a BBQ at Ted's sisters and had another egg hunt. Keegan has had a really runny nose the last couple days. Maybe he will actually be getting his first tooth soon.

Soaked shirt + runny nose = first tooth?

And look at Keegan's cute shirt below, it's Sean John. Just had to point that out :-)

Fun, Fun, Fun...

Daesha is riding on teds back like a dolphin

This last week Ted and I have been taking the kids out alot. The cold weather then warm and back to cold again is really getting on everyones nerves. We have had lots of fun. We went to the swimming pool. It was Keegan's first time, and he really liked it. Ted got Friday off work so we went out West for lunch and roasted hot dogs. It was pretty cold. We also went to a place called "Jump On It". WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! As you can see from the pictures the kids had a great time but I think the adults had even more fun. There are trampolines throughout the entire place. And you can jump from one tramp to the next, there are even ones along the wall that are at an angle. I was pretty nervous to jump on them, but got up the guts to do it! The pictures are a bit blurry and have white spots on them. I was getting mad because my camera is brand new. Once we left I took another picture and it turned out fine. I realized it was probably all the dust in the air from everyone jumping. Ew. But the pics are pretty funny. Ted liked it because the tramps are higher so he wasn't hitting the floor each time he jumped. My friend Kim went with us and she brought her 3 kids. So fun, can't wait to go again. Anyone interested in going call us!

Ain't no wife of the year...

It is apparent that I have become a terrible wife. I guess is started just not noticing the little things... like, I didn't notice when he would get his hair cut. And every other week Ted would get it cut and come walking in the door and Daesha was always the first to notice and say "Dad, you got a hair cut." This seriously went on for a couple months! Some times it would be days and Daesha would notice it still before I did. Last night we went to dinner and Ted mentioned something about the hair on his chin. Holy Crap! He shaved his goatee!! And I just now noticed!!! I said, "oh you shaved. When did you do that??" He replied. "Last Saturday". WHAT!! Oh I feel horrible where have I been???
Ted jokes and says I wouldn't notice anything.. He says he might come home with an earring and see if I notice.
Note to self... I have chosen to stay home and be a mommy to these cute kids. I still have a husband that deserves ALOT more attention.

warning...adolescence in me is about to show

I love dancing! My facination started when the movie Dirty Dancing came out. I watched that movie over and over I had a poster in my room of Baby and Johnny. In high school I took ballroom dance and really liked it. It was really easy for me. I dreamed that I could do this professionally but I guess that I didn't have the right attitude to follow my dream. Then I found country swing dancing and liked that too. Anyway, this post is going off on the wrong topic...What I really wanted to point out is my love for dancing and movies. When Step up came out a few years ago I went to see it 5 times at the theater. I loved the dancing and I loved the music. Then Step up 2 came out and of course I had to see that. In my opinion the dancing was even better than the first movie. One particular group in the movie got my attention. They were wearing white masks and gloves. Last week the same group was on Ellen Degeneres' show. And for someone who likes dancing like I do I knew that I should do some more research on these guys. Apparently they are on a show called America's Best Dance Crew. I am pretty sure we dont have that airing in Utah. I would have watched it. Anyway they are amazing dancers. If you dont believe me check them out on Jabbawockeez.com or click {here} and you can see some of their performances.
