Thanks

Thanks to everyones well wishes on my birthday. This birthday was a great one! I have finally found a way to get my husband to remember and make an effort to do something on my birthday! Want to know how it's done??? It's easy. Just keep him home. Don't let him work. Don't let him spend money. And then it's like a miracle... when a special occasion arrives he is all over the chance to go out and have a good time. Joking aside, I couldn't stop smiling the entire evening we were out. He took action and got a sitter and took me to dinner and a movie of my choice. He even had the kids color a card for me and he wrote the sweetest note to me. We never had to bring up work and how much he hates it at dinner. Instead we talked about the kids!!!!!!!!!! I know.. it's true. Real conversation about what the kids are doing or not doing, along with things we could work on. It has been a very long time since we could talk like we are in this life together. I can't believe that somehow we let that slip away in the seperate rolls we have taken on over the last couple years. I love love love LOVE having Ted home. It has been so good for the both of us in so many ways. Joining the real world and working to pay the bills is a reality we will have to face. Just like everyone else. But this unemployment has renewed our family. I will definately be much more careful and I know Ted will be too.

My friend Kim helped me celebrate my birthday early by taking me to get my toes done. A luxury I have missed alot lately :-) She totally spoiled me and got me 3 gift cards!! One to Kohl's, Rod Works, and Home Depot. She knows all these places have something calling my name. hahaha. We went to lunch too and then went to spend one of my gift cards. She even did a special birthday post on her blog about me. She also got me flowers. She is insane! I love her so much.

Then just like old times, our friends Kent, Jessie and Nad'a came over at 10:30 pm. They brought over a special cake and also got me a 3 disc 80's music cd. And ALMOND CHOCOLATE.

The most entertaining gift was a mini chemistry candy pop rock bubbly thing that the kids loved. You could drink the stuff too. It was so sour and gross!!! Keegan tried it first and made the funniest face. Then he thought it was hillarious to watch each of us try it and make sour faces.

So many family and friends made my day so much fun. I was really feeling the love. I am one Lucky Girl. I mean woman.... since I am closer to 40 than 20.

Are you talking about the same husband you've had for the last 12 years!!! Wow, I'm very impressed. Way to go Ted. I guess you had to show me up.
