It's My Party

and there certainly wasn't any cryin' from Daesha. She hasn't had a "friend" birthday party since she turned 5. So she was overjoyed when I told her she could have one this year. Turning 8 years old is a big deal for us so I tried to let her have a memorable party. She invited 12 girls, every single giggling, screaming, little girl came! Even Kelsey who celebrates her birthday on the exact same day as Daesha. Kelsey and Daesha thought it was pretty awesome that they got to party all day long because Kelsey had a friend party that morning and they went to the swimming pool and went rock climbing. When her party was over they both changed into their pajamas for Daesha's pajamas party. Daesha isn't a big fan of birthday cake so we put her 8 candles in the pizza they had for dinner. After dinner she opened her gifts and then they watched Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. (really cute movie by the way.) Daesha loved it! After all the popcorn, and one of Daesha's favorites, a super size lolly pop were all eaten and the movie was over it was time to go home. It was such an easy party and the girls had a great time. The next day Daesha and Keegan watched Judy Moody 3 times. Don't judge my parenting... I used the uninterrupted time to clean the house from top to bottom. Our house is going on the market this week.
The candles were cool. The flame was the same color as the candles so we had blue, red, yellow, and green flames on a pizza and happily sang Happy Birthday. Not sure if any of the other kids were happy about NOT having cake. I had a few come ask me if there was any cake and icecream.
All the girls in their jammies and blankets. Daesha has one friend who doesn't like wearing her jammies out of the house. She won't wear them to school on pajama day. But even though Daesha knew this she knew she would still came. That's a real friend for sure!
At first the girls stayed a good distance from the picture taking but after the first gift the group of girls quickly surrounded the Birthday Girl.
