Making Progress

I forgot to post about our recent home improvement! We started it way back in August. Ted started building some built-in book shelves for our 2nd front room. Then Ted's back went out and the job went on hold. When November came around I was pretty tired of having a 1/2 completed job so we hired the rest out. We had a family friend come and finish up the job. He gave us a really great deal and finished the job with perfection. I had wanted some waynes coating on my walls when we first moved in. So since I had such a great carpenter doing some work already I decided to see if he could do this project as well. So with 6 bookshelves with all the trimmings, waynes coating in entryway, hallway and up the stairs, new baseboards on the entire first floor came to $2,400.00.
I think it was well worth the price. Even when our situation made it very hard to afford. Our carpenter even let us make payments which helped a TON! And hopefully it will do the trick when we put our house back on the market this month.

This is the "library" room. Before we got our hands on it. The worst part was the doors to the right.....
The doors on the right side of the room in my opinion were just GROSS! I tried selling them on KSL. Then changed my add to FREE! Still no takers. Wonder why? Hahaha

Library room done! Just need a few more books!!!! It's funny that I don't have enough books to fill my new library. I DO read books I just never BUY books. I just went to the library. Even with monthly visits to the DI this last year it hardly but a dent (or book) in my collection.
But believe me I have thoroughly loved spending a few minutes wrapped in a blanket in my outdated red oversized chair reading a book. Oh my it's bliss.
Side note: If your planning on sending some books to donate to your local charity. Maybe you could send a few my way :) It would make my day!!!!

PS. That is Ted's deer. Right smack dab over my fireplace! I would much rather prefer a nice picture instead of a dead animal on my wall. But you should have seen Ted's face when I JOKINGLY said he could put one of his deer in the library. I couldn't take it back. He was overjoyed.

Ted and I went to Home Depot to rent a paint sprayer. But after comparing the price of rentals and buying a new sprayer...well it was better to just buy a sprayer. While at Home Depot I got us a painter suit, masks, goggles, and shoe covers. The whole shabang! Ted laughed at my over cautiousness and said he just needed a mask. O.K fine. But I am not getting paint in my hair. So I'm getting the suit for me!

HA! Men never listen.....

Here are a couple pictures of the extra high waynes coating...
