Happy Halloween!

Today Daesha got to wear her costume to school and they sang some songs for all the parents. Last year Daesha was sad because there were so many dressed the same as her, she was spiderman. This year she wanted to be a bad Tinkerbell. She came up with the idea on her own. So I got her a fairy dress and wings and sprayed them black. She was very pleased to see that nobody else was a BAD Tinkerbell. She was really excited when she told me that there were a couple good Tinkerbell's but no bad ones. I started to video them singing and my camera started beeping. It said my memory card was full!!! So here is why it was full (only some of the videos that have been taken in the last week.) I didn't put the video of me and Daesha getting close ups of our eye ball and up our nose and in our mouth. And the one of Keegan showing some aggressive behavior with Daesha's play gun is also one to only be on the family videos. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

TV teaching my kids?

Daesha has banned baby shows at our house. She says she is too big for Wiggles, Elmo, and even Dora. You can't make me feel any worse about letting my kids watch too much TV. It's really an addiction at our house. Daesha now watches. Cartoon Network which is geared for teen boys mainly. As I was watching cartoons with Daesha today I found out that my little girl knows a bit more than I realized. It was a commercial for another cartoon. A boy was licking a girls face! I said that is gross!!! Daesha said, "Mom don't say that, they just dont know how to kiss". Disturbing. But it did get a two second laugh from me. Maybe it's time to shut the TV off for awhile.

Hello? .... Is your fridge running? .... Nope.

Our fridge has finally stopped working. It lasted us a good 10 years. It seemed that everything started to break down at once. Last week the fridge and the heater in the trailor stopped working. Our printer died and so did the vacuum. Funny how things happen that way. So last night we went shopping. My nephew and his friend came along. While at the store we had a little fun. Ted can't let a toy sit quiet on a shelf. If it has a button to push he can't resist pushing it. But did you know if there are alot of the same toy it's double the fun if you can get all the toys going at the same time! Ya. I knew that too. BACK WHEN I WAS 10!!!

Ted tries to cover up the absolute fun he is having by saying, "That's an annoying toy". I think I'll get that for Keegan for Christmas.

My nephew in a kid ride. He really had to squeeze in and was in a small amount of pain. Hahaha!

Long weekend. Still fun

While Ted is gone hunting this UEA weekend the kids and I have had fun. (only 1 more day till he gets home)

It started off with my friend Kim leaving her 3 kids over on Wednesday night. I freaked myself out before they came. I wasn't completely sure I could handle 5 kids. But it was great. Brandon, Colton, and Megan all behaved so good. Except the gallon of pee I discovered all over the bathroom floor. Colton didn't make it to the bathroom. I walked right through it! SO SICK!!!
Daesha asked me if she could have some chores to do every day. She wanted to wash the walls. So I gave her a paper towel and she wanted a sponge and a bucket of water. I think she's been watching Annie too much. The crazy thing is I am not ready for her to have chores. It's stupid but my reason is that she won't do it right or very well. I will have to go back and do it anyway. But I guess if she wants to help and I guess it's the only way to teach her... anyway
On Friday I went to lunch with my Mother-in-law and Sis-in-laws. After lunch we went to some quilting shops where I got some fabric for some Christmas stockings I am making this year.
Saturday I went to visit a friend I have not seen in years! It was so much fun to catch up!!
That afternoon Kim invited me and the kids to go up the canyon for dinner. It was a ton of fun. George did all the work. Packing in the food, the chairs, starting the fire, taking the kids for a walk, gathered leaves for Daesha's school. And he even cooked our hotdogs for us. What a great guy.
Deasha started complaining of a sore throat and just wanted me to hold her most of the day. She kept telling me she missed her Dad. Poor thing. Hopefully she doesn't get too sick. Today she seems to be ok.

Cornbelly's corn maze and pumpkin fest

You can grow it, shuck it, pop it, cook it and for years... even play in it. With all the different uses, corn may be the world's most widely used crop. During this time of year it's popularity seems to be less about eating and more about getting lost in it. I for one really dont see the fun in corn mazes, still this is the 3rd straight year we have gone to Cornbelly's. But this year was extra fun because Ted was able to come with us. We all had a great time. Some of the things that are at the festival besides the corn maze are, the Haunted Creature which Daesha cried for the first time but wanted to go again as we were leaving. So Ted took her through again. Also a Cornophobia haunted maze trail, Spooktacular Jack-o-Lantern hayride, jumping pillow, trick-or-treating trail, pick-your-own pumpkin patch, pig races, cow train rides, pumpkin blasters, a gemstone mining operation, and much more.

This year they added the Pumpkin Princess Playland that Daesha loved. There was a real cinderella carriage that was brought to Utah straight from New York City, it's the same carriage used at the movie premier of Disney’s Cinderella movie release in 2005! At the pig races Daesha and 3 other kids were picked to help each sections pig win. The kids didn't do anything but cheer with the rest of us and then she got a plastic spider ring for going up front to cheer. It was a fun evening and we can't wait till next year.

Daesha going to the princess dress up area. Love the hair she chose..hmm might have to find some yarn that color for her next hair style.

I love the face Keegan is giving this boy. Keegan doesn't care that the other boy is twice his size he had better get out of his way!

Daesha and Ted racing the rubber duckies. While pumping water up the pump and down the pipes.

Ted helping Daesha rope the steer. First she roped herself, then Ted, then she gave up.

Daesha talking with the pig farmer before the pig race. Our pig came in last.

too bad this parking spot was taken when we got there.

But I still thought it was silly and wanted a picture with it.

My very first Quilt

HaPpy DaY!
I finally finished a project that has been in the making for 3 years, maybe more. I lost track. It was one of those projects that kept getting put down and never touched for months. But it was lots of fun to do. Each square represents each month of the year. I hand stitched each one and some have buttons sewn on. Then my sis-in-law whom happens to be a very good piece quilter helped me sew the borders. She let me use her machine which was really nice and fun to sew the squiggly designs. So now I have to find a rod to hang it on. Right now I just have it up with thumb tacks. Thats not so cute.
