Seeing Clearer At Our House

At least one of us is seeing clearer. Daesha got glasses today. I like to test Daesha's reading by pointing out words while we are driving or shopping at the store. For some time I have noticed that she couldn't see far away. I couldn't send her to first grade knowing she may have an issue. So this week she went to the Eye Doctor. She is definately near sighted. She was a 1200 with her natural eye. Which is pretty bad. The letters were 4 inches tall before she could see the letter!!!But she is now at 20 20 with her new glasses. Daesha was thrilled to get glasses. We didn't have to talk her up very much at all. Hopefully she will still feel this way when she realizes she will need glasses for the rest of her life. Unless of course she goes for lasik surgury.
I had lots of fun seeing Daesha get so excited at the Dr's. She loved every minute of it. Especially when it came down to trying on all the different glasses. She must have had an idea of what she already wanted. She was putting glasses on and off so fast I didn't get a chance to take pictures of all the possibilities. I just laughed as she would put them on, glance in the mirror for less than a second and say. uh, uh... next. She had the stack of 10 down to 2. Then fell in love with the perfect pair in just minutes. That's my kind of shopper!!!!
The best part was seeing her amazement as she lifted her new glasses away from her eyes and back on again. She just realized how much better she could see! We love her new look. Minus the fact she looks like she's 10 years old!!! One pretty darn cute "looking" 10 year old.

Looking at photos of her inner eyeball

1st pair that was a maybe....

Daesha hated these ones...

REALLY LIKED THIS PAIR!!!!

Which ended up being the ones she chose....

How fun for you guys, we are right there with you. Glasses became a fashion accessory for Camille just yesterday. She looks so grown up in them.
