Snowbird Ski Resort

Teds parents have a timeshare at Snowbird Ski Resort. So Ted and I took the kids on Saturday night and came home Sunday night. On the way up we stopped at Chin Wah one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. Sunday we missed church again :-( haven't been in 3 weeks! Braking the sabbath can be lots of fun..We went to lunch at the Forklift which is a restaurant at the resort. Then we took the ski tram up to the summit. Daesha liked going up higher and higher while Keegan kept crying. I think his ears were popping because mine sure were. Daesha had a blast swimming in the heated outdoor pool. And of course Daesha got her little following of "fans" every where she went. I was out side with her while she was in the pool on Sunday and I hear 3 girls yelling, "Daesha, Hi Daesha" from their balcony about 6 floors up. I asked her who those girls were and she replied, "oh, just some girls I met yesterday". What a Diva.
It was great weather, not much snow but it was a nice little getaway. Oh I almost forgot to post about our vehicle we bought last weekend. 2002 Chevy Suburban. LOVE IT. It has all the extra's.. DVD, onstar, leather seats, sunroof, and space!!!! Ted drove all weekend. Now we can look normal instead of me driving the Jetta and Ted crunched in the passenger seat.

The best phone call ever!

On Friday night I got the best phone call ever! But just to give a little history for those who don't know... When we were matched with Daesha's Birth Mom
(B-Mom/Daeshanae) we quickly became friends. We met her just a few days before Daesha was born. And It's hard to explain to anyone how much we were connected. We literally fell in love with our new friend. She was so wonderful and so kind to us. We have what is called an "open adoption" so she knows my cell phone number and address. I have never regreted that decision to keep her in our lives. When Daesha was one year old she wanted to come to Utah and see her. I basically told her no. And that was the last I heard of her. I was so mad at myself for hurting her and I never wanted her out of our lives and I was so sad that I had done just that. For 2 years I worried about her. She was no longer at her address and she always used a phone card to call me so I couldn't call her back. I even called the agency to see if maybe she had called them. We had moved and I thought maybe she lost our phone number. Then as I was driving to meet some girl friends for dinner she called my cell. I had to pull over because I was afraid I was going to crash from the shock and excitement. We talked for over an hour. We laughed and cried and it was just the best phone call ever. She told me "Thank You" for telling her NO! I couldn't believe she was thanking me... she said that she needed that, it helped her get the strength to get on with her life and acheive the goals she had made. She told me that she could see I needed space and so did she. She also told me she is graduating from college this spring and is engaged to Daehsa's Birth Father. They also have a little girl she is 8 months. And they bought a house together. I just couldn't contain the joy I felt for her and it brought back all the feelings I have for her. We told each other I Love You and it felt so natural like telling my own siblings I love them. I am so thankful she called and that she still loves us and that she is doing so well. Daesha is so lucky to have such an amazing woman in her life.

GAP casting call..

ok, ok, ok, I keep being told I should put my kids in modeling. I know they are both absolutly adorable. But I don't want to act vain by putting my kids in modeling. But I thought if they don't get in then every time someone tells me that they should model I can say, "already tried that". I waited till the very last day to put both Daesha and Keegan in the Gap casting call. I thought I could handle the free wardrobe and other free stuff. Who knows maybe something could go good with this like college tuitions.. anyway wish them luck. On November 20th the finalists will be listed on Gap.com And if by some miracle one of my kids gets to the finals, you should get on the site and make your vote!

Witches Night Out

This weekend was Witches Night Out. Last Year a friend invited me and Daesha to go with her and some of her friends. We had so much fun last year I was asking when we were going way back in August. Its a Mother and Daughter night and we all get dressed up as witches and go to dinner at the Spagetti Factory. Daesha is wearing the same costume my Mom made for me when I was 4 years old. This year the manager at the restaurant came to our table. He must have been in his mid 60's. Somebody's cute Grandpa. He was so cute with our girls; telling Halloween jokes and commenting them on their fun costumes and listening to their witch cackles. After we were done eating the kids got a bit restless and were wondering around the tables and looking out the windows (we had our own room so we weren't disturbing other customers)The manager walked in and my heart jumped alittle. I thought he might ask for them to settle down. Instead he tapped each one on the head saying, "duck, duck" and the last one GOOSE! He then started running around the tables the girls laughed and giggled but never chased him. After dinner we went to Gardner Village. For those who haven't heard of this place it is only the cutest shopping village in the entire world! A must see when in Utah and if you love shopping. It's old pioneer homes that are used as stores and candy shops. At Halloween time they put out witch displays and have a stage and dance floor with lively music. Everyone who goes on this special night dresses up as witches. So the whole place is crawling with witches of every size and color. I love going to see all the fun costumes. We had a great time! When we got home Daesha slept in my bed with me(Ted is hunting for the weekend)Just as I was on the verge of sleep Daesha whispered, "Mom, I had so much fun with you tonight".
I LOVE BEING A MOM!!!

TAG

I've been tagged. The rules are that you list 6 facts/habits about yourself then at the end of the post name 6 people that you are going to tag. Then you go into their comments and tell them that they have been tagged.
I will not be tagging 6 people, I only know 10 people who blog. And some just wont play this game. Trust me I know.

1. Some may say I am a clean freak. I am. I cant go to bed with dishes in the sink. And I cant stand dirty floors. I vacuum and sweep every day. Usually sweep more than once a day.

2. I love the smell of plastic. Especially bouncy balls.

3. I love to sing with the radio. I always dance in the car while driving. But I always stop singing and dancing when stopped at a light or stop sign. But if someone is with me I like to act silly and embarrass them.

4. While we are on the topic of driving I never drive the speed limit. I Always go too fast!

5. When I was in 2nd Grade I skipped school with a friend and went to the beach. Then hitched hiked home. I lived in California. First and only time my Mom spanked me.

6. I have a slight fear of water. Mostly lakes or deep water that I can't see the bottom.

Wow, I really have gotten behind on updating my blog. I will just list the things that have been going on with us lately..
- A couple weeks ago the whole family was sick with the flu. Ted even stayed home from work one day (He never calls in sick so he must have been really sick) Keegan had a huge vomit episode all over his Dad. It was kinda funny because he was happy and talking to his Dad and then it started coming and wouldn't stop. Ted just sat there on the couch stunned. When Keegan was finished he started laughing and talking again. I took this picture of Keegan just as his Dad was putting him in the tub. They were both covered! The next day I guess Keegan felt bad for leaving me out. I took the kids to Mcdonalds for lunch and I got the full force exercism. A nice lady came and took keegan and cleaned him up with his diaper wipes and I cleaned up myself and the table and his carrier, it was a mess. And it was smelly. I smelt like baby puke so we quickly packed up our food and left. I am sure half the play area left shortly after us.

- Ted's Grandmother pasted away last week. She was 89. She is the last of his Grandparents, she will be missed.
- Keegan is now 4 months. At his Dr's appointment his weight was 14 lbs. 10 oz. and he is 25 inches.

- Daesha got some insoles from the podiatrist to try and staighten her feet. I've been telling everyone she will be getting the shoes that look like boots. But I convinced the Dr that I really hated the thought of putting her in those. So when I went to get them today he handed me these hard plastic arch things. They look like giant pink potato chips. I guess he feels that the insoles will also work fine. And I have already seen improvement on her walking. We went to Walmart right after her appointment and she walked; even ran the entire time we were there. Usually she won't walk more than 10 steps. Her condition is diagnosed as Bilateral Medatarsus Adductus. Wade, the Dr is Scott F. Rogers, D.P.M. Does that answer your question on what kind of doctor??
- I pulled Daesha from Karate because it is right at a VERY grumpy hour of the day. She still wont take naps when I tell her to. But usually falls asleep anyway. But she was either grouchy or a complete spaz in class and wouldn't listen to her instructor. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle or the money.
- While I'm on the subject of money..I got my hair straitened at the salon. It went so strait!! I can't believe all my curl is gone. And it's so long too. It's pretty cool.
- As I started to think of things that have been going on with us lately it seemed more interesting and now I see that it was all pretty dumb. Sorry you read all that..
